Atul,
Glad you had a good visit to Rome. You mention South Asians in Italy. Are there many Indians there and how assimilated are they?
Also curious what Indian food might be like in Italy. I know that Chinese food more or less picks up the influences of whatever country it happens to be in.

So, I know you're Indian, but have you been to India before? I also take it that you're not on one of those matchmaking visits or are you? I guess I shouldn't be asking things like that :}

Glad to hear that everything is going well and that you are safe. Have a great trip. Take some photographs of historic sites - especially those on the outskirts that were visited by Macedonians during the Alexandrian period. ;-) Take care buddy...

It sounds like you are having a nice experience. I don't know how we ever got along before suitcases had wheels on them. I hope those three bags you were dragging around had them.

I look forward to hearing about India and seeing the pictures. Thanks for the update!

Sounds like a fun and exciting trip! I have been wanting to see Rome for a long time. From what you have described, I want to go even more. I hope to go one day. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip.

My family and i once traveled to Rome and i still remember how different it was to be in a society completely different then ours. It is like everyone knows your not from there just by looking at you and seeing your mannerisms. It is a great experience to travel to a different country. You can learn a lot from it and from the people. Europe is beautiful and i am glad you had a great time on your trip!

You're trip sounded amazing. I want to go to Rome and basically just Europe in general. Its got to be hard having people look at you and just instantly knowing you are not from here. All in the same time though I'm jealous of all your traveling it sounds awesome.

It sounds like you learned a lot on your trip to Rome while having a nice time. It is very sad that many of the historic buildings are being covered in graffiti. One of the major reasons I want to travel to Rome is to see the historic buildings. It will be a shame if they get ruined because people do not know how to take care of them. I guess when you are surrounded by beautiful historic buildings you begin to take them for granted and do not see them the same way that the people who travel to their country sees them. It is interesting that they have south Asian people doing the type of jobs that Hispanics do in America. Being in the culinary profession, I am happy to see that they have few chain restaurants there.

Atul

I wouldn't say the really significant historical buildings are getting covered with graffiti, but the historic ones around town have more graffiti than I would have expected. Yes, I was very happy to see few chain restaurants. If there were any, I would have tried to avoid them.
